Perhaps this was the procession back to the church, following an outdoor Mass.

The servicemen in the previous photo are the same ones in the above picture.

The civilians in this photo (not listed in order) are: Pastor Rev. Clarence J. Lindauer, seminarian Jerry Neufelder, seminarian Charles Meny, Anna Dewig, Lena Greubel, Mildred Jost, Tony Rexing.

The following information was taken from a history booklet entitled "Saints Peter and Paul, Haubstadt, Indiana, 1877-1951" apparently printed in preparation for the 1951 dedication of the new stone church structure.

"Servants of God and Country"
During the history of our parish our great Country has had to defend itself against aggressive enemies in war. Sons and daughters responded nobly. One hundred and seventeen answered the call to duty in World Wars I and II.
